On the uniqueness of the 2021 vintage

The 2019 vintage was another outstanding vintage in the Golan Heights. The season began after the wettest winter in years, ending a five-year drought. An uncharacteristically cool spring ended abruptly with warming in May and continued with pleasant summer months and average temperatures for the season from June to mid-September. The harvest started slowly when the first grapes were picked in the winery on August 6th. A heat wave between September 18-20 accelerated the ripening of the clusters in the vineyards and brought in its wake the second largest harvest week in the history of the winery. A warmer than usual October contributed to the continuation of the harvest in high gear until its end on October 23. In conclusion, the 2019 vintage was another wonderful season that provided us with exceptional wines.

Jordan Katzrin Chardonnay 2019 is produced exclusively from our best Chardonnay divisions in the north of the Golan Heights, certified to a sustainable standard.

The wine will be aged on the yeast for 9 months in new French oak barrels.

on the growing area

The Galilee is the northernmost growing area in Israel and is considered the best for growing wine grapes. Within this growing area, the Golan Heights is the part where the temperatures are the coolest and the grapes are of the highest quality. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau grow from 400 meters to 1200 meters above sea level and the higher ones meet snow in winter.
